Governor Shettima’s wife distributes rams to widows for Sallah

 
The wife of the Borno state Governor Hajiya Nana Kashim Shettima through her pet project Support for Widows, Orphans and Tsangaya (SWOT) has presented rams to widows and Tsangayas in the state in the sprit of Eild El-Kabir Sallah celebration.
Presenting the rams to the beneficiaries at the Government House Maiduguri, the chairman of the Foundation, Alhaji Muhammadu Bello (Sardaunan Gwoaza) said the foundation is presenting 100 rams to the widows and Tsangaya within the metropolis.
He said her Excellency the wife of the governor has approved 40 rams to the Tsagaya schools, while 60 rams were given to vulnerable widows across the Maidugri Metropolitan Council (MMC) and Jere local government areas of the state.

The Sardaunan Gwoaza said they used the widows Association and the Tsangaya Association to arrived at the choice of the beneficiaries, adding that the gesture is to assist these groups in order to celebrate the Sallah with their families happily.
The chairman said the first Lady has the passion for assisting the vulnerable members of the society, hence the establishment of the foundation, stressing that since the foundation came on board they have assisted widows, orphans and Tsangaya through poverty alleviation programmes.
It could be recalled that recently the SWOT Foundation donated over N100 million to widows across the 27 local government areas of the state, adding that even during the Eild El-Fitr Sallah celebration and Independence Day, the foundation has freed 50 prisoners and also presented food items and other house hold materials to the inmates.
The foundation also assisted the needy who has various ailments by settling their medical bills and sponsored many   other for treatment in vatious hospitals out side the country, as a way of assisting the less privileged members of the society.
