Police arrest 17 suspects over Gombe communal clash

The Police arrested 17 persons following Friday’s communal clash between Waja and Dadiya ethnic communities in Gombe state.
The Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Sule, told newsmen in Gombe on Wednesday that 14 suspects were initially, while three others were later added. more after the cut...






The police boss said that items recovered from the suspects are six guns and one pistol.
Mr. Sule said that the police were still investigating the incident, adding that as soon as investigations were completed, the suspects would be charged to court.

Two persons were on Friday k00illed in communal clashes between the Dadiya and Waja ethnic groups in Bambam Town and Maitunku Village in Kaltungo Local Government Area of Gombe.
The crisis was triggered by the killing of a man in Maitunku Village earlier in the week.
