The death of Dutch amateur linesman Richard Nieuwenhuizen shocked a nation. Niewenhuizen was beaten to death following a youth match, with six teenagers and a father set to face trial over the killing. Nieuwenhuizen's death prompted a rule change in Dutch soccer, meaning that only team captains can speak with referees -- any other player who does so will be booked.
why would anyone beat up a referee or the lines man, just because the game ain't going in your won favour or as you wanted? it is very absurd for you to raise your hand against the elderly no matter how much your fury may burn. if not for anything, at least you have one at home. Now this sad story made me even more sad hearing now that the poor guy with a family left behind i s gone! SMH I feel sorry for the late ref, bless his soul, and his poor family!
