FG declares Monday, Tuesday Public Holidays, Marking Eid-el-Fitri

 
The FG on today declared Monday, August 20, and Tuesday, August 21 as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-el-Fitri  or Sallah celebration and Eid-el-Fitri or Sallah celebration usually marks the end of the 30 days fasting embarked upon by Muslim faithful.

The declaration on behalf of the Federal Government urged Nigerians to emulate the exemplary attributes of Islam which are “love, tolerance and peaceful co-existence amongst the people’’.
Signed by Mrs Anastasia Nwaobia, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior.
