Chief Opral Benson Becomes Liberia Ambassador To Nigeria

Chief Mrs Opral Benson, 77, has been made the ambassador to her country of birth, Liberia.

The proprietor of the Opral Benson Beauty Institute and widow of Nigeria's first minister of information, late TOS Benson, received an official letter on the 7th of August from the minister of foreign affairs.

The fashion Icon will operate as the Consular General of Liberia from Lagos, which has been her base for many years, instead of moving to Abuja where most consuls are based.

Rihanna happened to be out in L.A. over the weekend ... and was asked if she still used Nivea products and she shot back a death stare ... as if to say, HELL F'ing NO.

Man allegedly brutalised by soldiers buried

 

Adewale Olupitan-Hassan, who died after being allegedly brutalised by soldiers attached to the Flag Staff House, Force Road, Lagos, has been buried.

Olupitan-Hassan was brutalised by the soldiers who were driving in a military convoy at the Obanikoro end of Ikorodu Road on July 15 for allegedly breaking the side mirror of one of the vehicles in their convoy.

He later died at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital on July 29 as a result of the injury he sustained when he was brutalised.

At a prayer session held at his Opebi residence before his remains were interred at the Atan Cemetery, Lagos, on Saturday, friends, associates and family members paid tribute to the retired director of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency.

A new type of snake discovered in Brazil... Ladies :-)

 

According to The Sun, biologists came across the Atretochoana eiselti, which they've dubbed the 'floppy snake' while examining a hydroelectric dam on a river in the Amazon.

The creature is eyeless and from a family of 'blind snake' closely related to the salamander. Six of the snakes were found living at the bottom of the Madeira River in the northern state of Rondonia in Brazil...

...and it looks very familiar. (heheh)  ladies will definitely pass this exam... it makes the ladies dance back and forth...*grins*. Check it out after the cut... :D

FG declares Monday, Tuesday Public Holidays, Marking Eid-el-Fitri

 

The FG on today declared Monday, August 20, and Tuesday, August 21 as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-el-Fitri  or Sallah celebration and Eid-el-Fitri or Sallah celebration usually marks the end of the 30 days fasting embarked upon by Muslim faithful.

The declaration on behalf of the Federal Government urged Nigerians to emulate the exemplary attributes of Islam which are “love, tolerance and peaceful co-existence amongst the people’’.

So many countries got at least a bronze medal to expect the least... and our beloved country found it offensive to return home empty handed.

I saw so many new countries and they went home with medals.
