 19 Year Old Nigerian Woman married to British Man in a coma after Attempted Suicide because of Deportation Order

A 19 Year old Nigerian woman named Nkechi May Brown is currently in a coma after attempting suicide. May who is a student of public affairs at Weymouth College moved to the UK three years ago.

She met her husband Michael Brown a year ago and they got married in December 2012. She applied for asylum in the UK. However, her request was denied. According to the UK Daily Mail – “May fled to Britain from her home country three years ago after witnessing her father’s murder and being subjected to sexual abuse.”

Her husband, “Mr Brown, 34, said UK Border Agency officials believe their marriage to be a ‘sham’ with no ‘emotional attachment’.”

A few years ago, in a photo essay for Slate.com, boxer-turned-Boston-Marathon-Bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev said: “I don’t have a single American friend. I don’t understand them." But Tsarnaev, 26, who died Friday in a police shoot-out during a botched getaway, fell in love with and married one: Katherine Russell, a 24-year-old Rhode Island native and the mother of their 3-year-old daughter, Zahara. 

The young family lived in a Cambridge apartment that had been leased more than 10 years ago by Tsarnaev's parents. Russell worked 70 to 80 hours, 7 days a week as a home health-care aide, her lawyer, Amato DeLuca, told reporters, and she thought her husband was caring for their toddler at home while she was at work. Instead, he allegedly was planning out the terrorist attack that killed 3 and maimed more than 170 others at the finish line of the Boston Marathon last week.

Lady Mechanic, Sandra Ekperuoh's mechanic workshop in VI sealed

This is an outrage! Over 40 policemen and officials from the Waste Water Management and Sewage Board, an arm of the Ministry of Environment, this morning stormed the mechanic workshop of Nigeria's first woman auto mechanic, Sandra Aguebor-Ekperuoh, and sealed the place. Her auto workshop, where she employs only female mechanics, is situated by 1004 in Victoria Island. 

Sandra, who has been an auto mechanic for the past 27 years, runs an NGO that empowers women called the Lady Mechanic Initiative where she has empowered and graduated over 150 women in Lagos State alone. Sandra has over 150 women mechanics in Abuja and 100 women mechanics in Benin where 50 of the girls are graduating in three weeks time. 40 of them will be employed by Sandra immediately after graduation in her Lagos, Benin, Kaduna and Abuja workshops. Some of the girls who have passed through her are now self employed with their own mechanic workshops and even training other female mechanics. This woman has done so much to empower women in this country and helped to reduce prostitution in her home state Edo, so it's so sad to see this happen to her. We should be celebrating this woman, not taking land from her.

She trains these girls for free, still gives them a salary and accommodates them. The land that was sealed today houses the Lady Mechanic Workshop and a hostel for her girls where the girls, some of them orphans, stay rent free.

Their reason for sealing the place? They are saying the land belongs to the Lagos State government. Sandra has been on that land for the past 10 years.See photos of the sealed workshop after the cut... LIB(Photocdr)

Frontline Yoruba leader and national leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, weekend, described President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration as a failed government.

Family of Man (Korie) Killed by Police Demands JUSTICE!

The family of Santos (Nwabueze) Korie, the man who was killed by policemen around Daleko Bridge, Mushin, Lagos, has demanded justice for his murder.

PUNCH Metro had reported that Korie was killed on April 11, 2013, after being accosted by two policemen while allegedly driving against traffic along Mushin-Isolo Expressway.

The family, in a letter addressed to the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, said it was saddening that policemen, who are paid to protect lives and property, were the ones perpetrating such a dastardly act.

French family held in Northern Nigeria return safely to France

The Moulin-Fournier family, who were based in Cameroon, were kidnapped while visiting a national park in the northern part of the country. A few days later, they were taken to northern Nigeria where they were held by members of Boko Haram who asked Cameroon to free detained members of their group before they free the abducted family. The French family returned to their country yesterday Saturday April 20th. No word yet on how they were released.
