Snoop Dogg says he was "born again" during a visit to Jamaica in January, is changing his name to Snoop Lion and is ready to make music that his "kids and grandparents can listen to."

The artist known for gangster rap is releasing a reggae album called "Reincarnated" in the fall.
The West Coast rapper held a news conference in New York on Monday. Later he played five songs for a small crowd, including one called "No Guns Allowed." It features his daughter.
The album will be followed with a documentary of the same name. It features him making music and will include some personal elements of his life, a producer of the film said. It will debut at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.

Major Al Mustapha losses mum

 

KANO – Hajiya Fatima Al Mustapha, mother of Major Hamza Al Mustapha, the embattled former Chief Security Officer to the late Head of State, Gen Sani Abacha, is dead.
Late Fatima 70, died at the Malam Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano, Wednesday afternoon after a protracted illness.
Confirming the passage of the matriarch of Al Mustapha family, spokesman of the family told Vanguard that “mama is dead and we are currently making arrangement for the internment in accordance to the dictates of Islam’
According to the family source, Hajiya Fatima was disgnosed of Cardiomegaly by a family doctor in 2010 and had been in and out of hospitals both within and outside the country.
Vanguard learnt that Al Mustapha mother’s health condition deteriorated early this year following a Lagos court verdict that sentenced her son to death.

Kim Kardashian and her rap-guru boo, Kanye are fresh off a wild vacation in Mexico where Girls Gone Wild star, Joe Francis hosted them in his luxurious house.

According to Joe, who shared photos of the trip on his site, "Kim Kardash and her new boyfriend Kanye West, along with a group of familiar faces the couple relaxed poolside before hitting the ocean on jet skis."

They also treated themselves to a tour through the Mexican jungle after which they had a low key intimate dinner hosted by Joe.

According to both magazines, Pattinson read Stewart's publicly apology to him when he saw it on the Internet – and it actually made the situation worse. "Rob just isn't going to be able to get beyond the cheating – one time or not," a source told People.

While Pattinson has been at Witherspoon's, Stewart has been living with her parents since she moved her belongings from Pattinson's home. According to Us Weekly, her parents "feel Kristen has really embarrassed herself... This is not the Kristen they know."

Female Banker to Represent Nigeria in the Country’s First Ever Olympic Marathon

Esther Obiekwe, an employee of Diamond Bank Plc, will be the first ever Nigerian woman to represent the country at the marathon event of an Olympic Games when she participates in the marathon event which will take place in London on August 5, 2012.
This is following her nomination by the Athletic Federation of Nigeria to compete at the London 2012 Olympic Games. This was made known to newsmen in Lagos during a reception held at Diamond Bank Plc’s corporate Head Office, where Esther Obiekwe presented her nomination certificate to the Board and Management of the Bank shortly before her departure for London.
Esther Obiekwe also received a return ticket to London courtesy of the bank.

Bank driver arrested with 19 ATM cards, N652,000

 

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested Dare Oladujoye, a driver with Zenith Bank, for allegedly being in possession of 19 Guaranty Trust Bank ATM cards and the sum of N652, 000. PUNCH Metro learnt that the suspect was using the cards to withdraw money from an ATM at Ogba branch of GTB when a security guard raised the alarm.

The Commissioner of Police for the state police command, Mr. Umar Manko, said as of the time of his arrest, the suspect had withdrawn N652, 000 from the ATM.

 

Manko said, “On July 26, 2012, around 8:30pm, there was a distress call that there was commotion at GTB, Ogba branch. On getting there, the suspect was seen with 19 ATM cards. more after the break...
