KANO – Hajiya Fatima Al Mustapha, mother of Major Hamza Al Mustapha, the embattled former Chief Security Officer to the late Head of State, Gen Sani Abacha, is dead.
Late Fatima 70, died at the Malam Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano, Wednesday afternoon after a protracted illness.
Confirming the passage of the matriarch of Al Mustapha family, spokesman of the family told Vanguard that “mama is dead and we are currently making arrangement for the internment in accordance to the dictates of Islam’
According to the family source, Hajiya Fatima was disgnosed of Cardiomegaly by a family doctor in 2010 and had been in and out of hospitals both within and outside the country.
Vanguard learnt that Al Mustapha mother’s health condition deteriorated early this year following a Lagos court verdict that sentenced her son to death.
